My Dress, My Land, My Story
This is one of my traditional dresses, a heritage that traces back to the time of the Canaanites. Mary, mother of Jesus (PBUH), was from my village of Saffuriya, and she would have worn something very similar. Since those ancient days, these dresses have been cherished and worn by native Christians, Jews, and Muslims alike.
I wear them with pride, carrying the history of my land—Palestine—woven into every stitch.
