Tomorrow in Lebanon: A Peaceful Sit-In for Dignity
n the UK, we often hear about Gaza and the West Bank. But the story of Palestinian refugees in Lebanon — hundreds of thousands of people living without basic rights — remains largely untold.
These individuals rely almost entirely on UNRWA, the United Nations Relief and Works Agency, for survival. And now, even that lifeline is fraying.
Tomorrow, in the Saida area, refugees will hold a peaceful sit-in to draw attention to several urgent issues:
The suspension of UNRWA’s Social Affairs Program has deprived thousands of families of essential support
Patients are being denied hospital access because they cannot afford treatment
School mergers have created overcrowded classrooms, with 40–50 students packed into each room
Fundamental rights — healthcare, education, dignity — are slipping away
This is not about politics.
It’s about human beings striving to live with dignity.
Palestinian refugees are asking for one thing:
the right to survive, to be seen, and to return home one day.
Let’s not overlook their story
